What this covers. Businesses that sell alcohol, anywhere in New York, plus New York City restaurants at inspection. New York publishes no all-trades list of new shops, so salons, gyms and most retail aren't here. New company filings are listed separately and never counted as openings.
Where it comes from
Applicants for a liquor license show up on the State Liquor Authority's pending list, with the address and the date received. New York City restaurants get a pre-permit health inspection.
